National Museum Korea I Seoul
On 23rd November 2022, the redesigned Celadon Gallery was reopened at the National Museum of Korea in Seoul. The Sculpture and Crafts section showcases many of the world’s finest examples of Buddhist sculpture, metalwork and ceramics, as well as the traditions and astonishing expertise of Korean artisans.
In a permanent exhibition, approximately 250 ceramics pieces with a special, jade-green glaze (celadon) are displayed, which originate from as far back as the 10th century (Goryeo dynasty).
For the design of the exhibition space, we draped the walls with our curtains (roughly 205 m2), made of matte alphamesh 12.0 stainless steel, and subtly illuminated them. They give the space a special, calming atmosphere and invite you to pause and spend some time.
